Densely coloured but not opaque. Showing a smoky, meaty, expressive nose with a touch of fresh blood and garrigue herbs. Medium-bodied, you immediately feel the freshness and marked acidity. Extremely vibrant for the vintage. Well-balanced, this is really precise and intense. The oak is well-integrated, well-judged and not excessive, finishing with polished, fine tannins.
These Côte-Rôtie vines include holdings in the Le Champin, Leyat, Côte Blonde, Les Moutonnes, and Fongeant lieux-dits. The vineyards are split between the steep inclines above the town of Ampuis (66%) and the flat plateau (34%), which has been planted since the 1960s.
